About Us

John Ackerman

I grew up in a CPA family, my father and uncle are both career CPAs. I have seen firsthand the importance of client service and how client relationships can transform from rigid and professional to friendly. After graduating from St. Xavier high school, I attended Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, where I studied accounting and finance. I took my education further and received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science in Taxation (MST). After passing the CPA Exam, I worked for a Big 4, a regional, and a large local CPA firm before starting my own practice. My goal is to provide the most reliable, friendliest, and helpful accounting service of anyone, anywhere.

Alyssa Ackerman

I attended Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, and finance. During my last semester of college, I sat for and passed all four parts of the CPA exam. After graduating from Bellarmine, I spent four years working with large multi-state businesses and high wealth individuals at a large national firm.

Chris Lowry

I attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics with minors in political science and Asian Studies. While at DePauw, I competed on the varsity track & field team. I also graduated from Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY with an accounting certificate. I am currently in the process of sitting for the CPA exam. In recent years I have interned with a regional CPA firm as well as working for a professional soccer organization.

Cheryl Duckett

I attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.  I had a long career as a Bookkeeper/Office Manager for a small business, along with other accounting careers in the past.  I am happy to be a part of the Ackerman CPAs team as their Client Accounting Specialist.

Ramya Chityala

I earned my bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a focus on Accounting and Finance from Osmania University in India and began my career with a Big Four accounting firm in taxation. My experiences there inspired me to explore how technology can enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. This interest led me to the United States, where I completed a Master’s in Information Technology and Management from The University of Texas at Dallas, with minors in Accounting.

 I now enjoy contributing to Ackerman CPAs, LLC as a Tax Associate, where I integrate my background in finance, technology, and tax. I am also in the process of sitting for the CPA exam.

Erica Dunne

I attended Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. While at Bellarmine I served as Community Outreach Coordinator for Bellarmine’s BUKnighted club. While in school I also interned with Ackerman CPAs, LLC and have happily returned to the team as Office Manager.
